- The manufacturer contacts the Casino group’s central purchasing department. Casino’s buyer checks that the products are certified as halal by a halal meat inspection body (HMIB).
- The manufacturer enters into a firm commitment, by completing a precise document describing how the halal meat identification process is carried out.
- After having checked the existence of the HMIB, Casino contacts it in order to obtain confirmation of the inspections and verifications claimed by the manufacturer.
- Casino carries out surprise visits on the premises of all manufacturers supplying halal meat or meat-based dishes.
These visits are supported by on-site inspection of administrative documents (including the agreement between the manufacturer and the HMIB, the name of the inspector, the sacrificer’s card, the inspection register, etc). The presence of the inspector himself is also checked (company staff or staff made available).
